*Looking for college students graduating in May 2025 or August 2025*
The Career Launch Program at Northwestern Mutual gives you valuable, real-world work experience to prepare you for a career as a Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual. It is modeled after the success of our internship program with an accelerated transition into a full-time role with Northwestern Mutual post-graduation. Graduating seniors will participate in a part-time, development-style mentorship program in the months leading up to Full-Time training in June or September of 2025.
Benefits of the Program:
- Allows you to leverage a college financial representative contract as you graduate and prepare for a full-time career as a financial representative.
- Earn development program incentives, while gaining real-world experience through full-time training, development, and coaching.
- Work one one-on-one with Growth Development Director to gain exposure to the business, product and sales training, financial planning education, and more.
- Study for and obtain licenses including Life and Health Insurance, SIE, Series 6, and Series 63.
- Extended preparation for full-time training.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Gain sufficient understanding of products and services offered by Northwestern Mutual and how their clients achieve financial goals
- Attend client meetings
- Communicate effectively with senior advisors for planning and preparation
- Prepare or assist in preparing comprehensive, holistic financial plans
- Attend weekly development meetings with the assigned Growth Development Director
- Participate in training, development, and coaching – expand on your knowledge of our comprehensive approach to financial planning and cultivate your professional development skills
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current full-time student in their senior year of college
- Connected to the Cincinnati/Dayton area
- Ability to work on own initiative and independently
- Commitment to providing a first-class client experience
- Knowing how to connect with people and easily build trusted relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Stand Out Position Qualifications:
- Experience in a professional work environment
- Managing multiple priorities between school, work, or extra-curricular activities
- Experience in Sales/Entrepreneurial work
- Involvement in campus organizations/community organizations
- Demonstrating leadership skills
