What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant, Head Start position at Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission?
Join our Head Start family in a the role of a Teacher Assistant. This person would assist in the Head Start classroom working as a part of a three person teaching team in the development of an education program for children ages 3-5. This position would also assist in driving the small bus in order to help the preschoolers get to school.
Location: Hicksville Head Start classroom
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 34 hours per week. Summers off.
Hourly Pay (based on education):
- $16.29 - HS Diploma/GED........ $17.86 once the CDL is obtained
- $17.07 - CDA....... $18.68 once CDL is obtained
- $17.86 - Associates Degree........ $19.42 once CDL is obtained
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and,
- One year working in an Early Childhood Education program, preferred.
- Must be able to stand for periods at a time
- Must be able to work in a classroom environment that is physically flexible to the needs of children ages 3-5.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain state minimum amount of automobile liability insurance and be insurable through NOCAC’s vehicle insurance carrier and be over the age of 21 w/ a good driving record.
