Northwood has an opening for a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team at our Corporate Headquarters in Madison Heights, MI.

Job Introduction

The ideal candidate will provide top-notch technical support across various areas including help desk operations and management, network support, and internal and external customer support. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad skill set in both hardware and software environments. Background in Medical Billing or Healthcare IT is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Help Desk Support

  • Provide first-level technical support to customers and end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Document support tickets and resolutions using our ticketing system.

Network Support

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and coordinate with the network team for resolutions.
  • Internal IT Support
  • Perform hands-on support for internal IT needs, including setting up workstations and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems.

Office 365 Support

  • Assist users with email setup, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other MS 365 tools.

Windows Server Support

  • Assist in managing Windows Server environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates.

User Account Management

  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across various platforms.
  • Manage permissions and access controls.

PC Desktop Administration

  • Install and update software applications.
  • Ensure all desktops comply with company security policies
  • Ad Hoc Assignments and Projects as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or equivalent work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Windows OS installation and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of MS 365 administration.
  • Experience with backup solutions and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and troubleshooting.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in Healthcare billing or Healthcare claims processing environments.

Schedule:

  • Day shift, M - F

Work Location:

  • On-site at least 3 days a week in Madison Heights, MI 48071.
  • Optional remote work 2 days a week.
