Northwood has an opening for a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team at our Corporate Headquarters in Madison Heights, MI.
Job Introduction
The ideal candidate will provide top-notch technical support across various areas including help desk operations and management, network support, and internal and external customer support. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad skill set in both hardware and software environments. Background in Medical Billing or Healthcare IT is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Help Desk Support
- Provide first-level technical support to customers and end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Document support tickets and resolutions using our ticketing system.
Network Support
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and coordinate with the network team for resolutions.
- Internal IT Support
- Perform hands-on support for internal IT needs, including setting up workstations and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems.
Office 365 Support
- Assist users with email setup, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other MS 365 tools.
Windows Server Support
- Assist in managing Windows Server environments.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates.
User Account Management
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across various platforms.
- Manage permissions and access controls.
PC Desktop Administration
- Install and update software applications.
- Ensure all desktops comply with company security policies
- Ad Hoc Assignments and Projects as needed.
Education and Experience
- Associates or equivalent work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in Windows OS installation and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of MS 365 administration.
- Experience with backup solutions and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals and troubleshooting.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience in Healthcare billing or Healthcare claims processing environments.

Schedule:
- Day shift, M - F
Work Location:
- On-site at least 3 days a week in Madison Heights, MI 48071.
- Optional remote work 2 days a week.
Northwood also serves auto and workers compensation clients and their PIP claimants.
