Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse ICU

Job Specialty : ICU

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 07 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM, every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH

Must-Have :

Cardiac experience
IV insertion
Blood draws
PICC / Central Line management

Job Description :

Work in the ICU or OHU with high acuity patients

Manage dialysis fistula : assess only

Handle A-line management and CVP

Proficient in IABP and obtaining 12 lead EKG

Perform cardioversion / defibrillation

Manage epicardial pacer and procedural sedation

Operate CPAP / BiPAP and ventilators

Experience with Nitric Oxide, Trach Care, and EVD management

ICP monitoring, Impella / LVAD expertise

ECMO and peritoneal dialysis management

CRRT and epidural / PCA pump experience

Handle feeding tubes and continuous bladder irrigation

Chemo administration and wound vac proficiency

Unit Description :

Work in ICU, CVICU

High acuity unit with advanced procedures like VAD implantation, post EP procedures, post cath lab

Patient ratio : 1 : 2

Handle top diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, CHF, CAD, CKD, AKI, stroke, CABG, AVR

Common equipment includes Impella, IABP, PA catheter, bladder scanner

Nurses need to be able to read tele strips and titrate medication

Common medications administered include Level, neo, amio, protocol, precedex, dobutamine, vasopressin, cardene, Cardizem, dopamine, epinephrine, nimbex

Utilize EPIC for charting

Scrub color is Galaxy Blue (not provided)
