Medical Biller and Coder

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and medical terminology. This role is essential in ensuring accurate billing and collections for our medical services, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
• Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and DRG to ensure accurate billing.
• Manage accounts receivable, including follow-up on unpaid claims and medical collections.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for billing purposes.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and billing practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in medical coding systems and knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of medical collection processes is a plus.
