About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing/Coder Specialist to join our healthcare revenue cycle team. This role requires advanced knowledge of A/R processes, including insurance follow-up, denial management, and revenue recovery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing/coding and collections, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve outstanding insurance claims and patient balances.
- Conduct follow-ups on unpaid claims, appeals, and denials to maximize revenue recovery.
- Analyze aging reports and take action to reduce A/R days.
- Work directly with insurance providers to resolve claim discrepancies and underpayments.
- Create Invoices, Submit Claims, Process refunds, adjustments, and write-offs as needed.
- Ability to accurately interpret the patients type of care for medical coding.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer policies, and medical billing regulations.
- Investigate denials and payment issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all billing and collection activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable management.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance follow-up, denial management, and reimbursement processes.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, , eClinicalWorks, Lytec, etc.).
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity goals.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with insurance companies and patients.
Must have a high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and billing software, as well as EMR systems.
