Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, directing and implementing a comprehensive major gifts program designed to generate major gifts from individuals, organizations, corporations and foundation to support the vital programs and services of Norton Healthcare. Work closely with Foundation staff and hospital administrators to initiate and implement cultivation and solicitation efforts based on the major fund raising projects of the Foundation and the interest of donors. Annual revenue goal of $500,000 from major gifts ($25,000 and below). Work in an office setting with weekly travel required to make in person visits with donors and potential donors. This position will assist with events as needed, which requires flexible hours, including evening and weekends and own transportation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts in accordance with an established budget and Foundation expectations. Work closely with the Foundation staff to help identify prospective donors. Where appropriate opportunities arise on major gift visits, solicit and close planned gifts. Attend all board meetings as requested. Provide regular oral and written reports on all efforts and progress being made with major gift donors.
- Using principles of moves management, develop and maintain a working list of top donors and prospects. Contact donors/prospects personally through home or office visits on a regular basis. Participate in staff meetings for the purpose of tracking top donors/prospects. Develop annual goals and strategies to maximize major gift support from donors. Continually research and identify new donor prospects
- Coordinate cultivation activities, appropriate hospital tours and meetings with donors and prospects to foster greater understanding and support fund development activities. Ensure database is maintained for donor and prospect contacts and related information. Ensure appropriate and timely gift acknowledgment as well as defined recognition of all donations and donors is accomplished.
- Oversee integration and coordination of donor gift fulfillment and stewardship for events, annual fund and planned giving.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years fundraising with a not-for-profit
- Bachelor Degree
