Responsibilities
The Lead Invasive Cardiac Specialist demonstrates professional development and clinical competency. Utilizes the invasive cardiology process to address health educational needs for patients, families, and other health care providers; manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient and unit operations; applies knowledge of growth and development needs from adolescent through geriatric patients; assists with invasive procedures in the roles of hemodynamic monitoring, circulating, and scrubbing with physicians. Serves as an onsite instructor for Cardiac Cath students and/ or acts as a preceptor for new employees in the Cath/ Vascular labs and is a resource for IC staff. Acts as a front line resource for staff while working closely with the leader to ensure quality and to promote continuity. Supports operations in the department in the absence of the department leader/ supervisor.
Qualifications
Required:
- One year in a clinical setting
- Diploma
- One of: ARRT (R) or RCIS AND One of: ARRT (CI) or ARRT (CV) or ARRT (VI) or RCIS Must obtain within 18 months of hire
Desired:
- Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
