Responsibilities
The Manager, Clinical Quality Regulatory Reporting leads a team of clinical abstractors and quality analysts to abstract clinical data from various systems for analytical and statistical testing, ensuring accurate and timely extracts and reports to all internal and external stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting data to external third parties, keeping current on reporting requirements, data definitions and their clinical rationale and sources of data, designing and overseeing data collection and data quality control processes to assure reliability and validity, as well as identifying and advancing opportunities to automate, or otherwise improve, the accuracy and efficiency of data collection. The Mgr, Clinical Quality Regulatory Reporting also acts as a liaison with clinical quality leadership to implement, track and measure opportunities for improvement related to abstracted and reported quality measures.
Key Accountabilities:
- Communicate with team members and appropriate clinical leaders in a timely fashion all quality findings and changes. Summarize findings in a meaningful way, sharing with organizational leadership, physicians and board members.
- Serve as clinical data expert relative to clinical quality metrics as assigned. Establish and maintain relationships with internal clinical experts and operations for ongoing improvement and clarity. Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate external regulatory authorities to ensure timely communication of reporting requirements and changes (which may require ongoing participation in education and seminars related to clinical quality assignments).
- Provide leadership and guidance over data collection and data quality control processes to ensure accuracy, reliability and validity. Interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement relative to quality performance and documentation, as well as opportunities for efficiencies in data collection, while collaborating with IT and others, as appropriate.
- Lead a team of and provide guidance to analyst experts on details of reporting requirements, data definitions and their clinical rationale and sources of data. Serve as the system expert and resource to others on these topics, while establishing and maintaining relationships with appropriate external authorities to ensure documentation and reporting requirements.
- Oversee clinical databases spanning multiple specialties, hospitals and physician practices and the related quality metrics. Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely extracts and reports from those databases for reporting to external agencies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Five years clinical setting utilizing data abstraction and analysis
- Bachelor Degree
