Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Surgical Services Director, the Surgical Services Business Manager implements and maintains the financial and business goals and objectives to ensure fiscally viable and optimal service delivery in the assigned areas. The Surgical Services Business Manager provides support by effective materiel management and equipment, and data analysis for operational efficiencies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain the financial and business goals for all areas of surgical services and other areas as assigned in collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services and the VP of Operations and Finance. Effectively manages informatics, financial and capital resources.
- Manages identified operational activities along with supervision of direct reports that may include but not limited to Surgery Scheduling, Charge/Revenue, and Supply Chain management.
- Directs and coordinates assigned projects, including identification of/leadership of project team, documentation of project progress and presentation of recommendations. Utilizes change management principles to lead projects. Coordinates special projects/life safety, new product requests, and vendor management for all areas of Surgical Services.
- Coordinates monthly statistical reporting of surgical services operational metrics. Ensures accuracy of statistics and problem solves inaccuracies/discrepancies when they occur. Provides month end financial review analysis for surgical services.
- Participates in budget development and management for all areas of surgical services. Analyzes clinical and business information systems data for the purpose of making recommendations for operational and strategic planning.
Qualifications
Required:
- One year in a healthcare setting or completion of healthcare administrative fellowship
- Bachelor Degree
Desired:
- One year process improvement
- Master Degree
