General Summary of Job Duties:
This position is responsible for the transportation of supplies, equipment, ship parts, and passengers to and from ships, airports, warehouses, etc.
Specific Essential Job Duties:
- Utilize company-owned vehicles to drive to and from various locations, including ships, airports, hotels, etc. to pick up and drop off boat crews and other maritime related personnel.
- Inspects vehicle before and after trips/shifts and reports damage, mechanical, and maintenance issues and needs to supervisor.
- Perform any required “user maintenance” tasks, as needed.
- Provide outstanding customer service when transporting crews to and from ships, airports, and hotels.
- Maintain all required OSHA certifications.
- Comply with all DOT rules and requirements for transporting passengers and/or potentially hazardous materials.
- Comply with all company safety rules and programs.
- Maintain and protect in superior condition all company property, including trucks, cars, vans, parts, and equipment.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required
- 1-2 years of related experience required
- Driver’s license and acceptable MVR required
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card required
- Customer service experience preferred
- Safe driving skills, including the ability to maneuver in and around congested area
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.

The Transport Driver will spend a significant amount of time driving. This includes being able to sit comfortably for extended periods of time both during a trip and on standby awaiting passengers. Additionally, there will be some bending/stooping, lifting, walking, standing, and carrying of transport items such as luggage, clothing, boxes, and personal effects of the passengers up to 50 pounds. On-hire times can vary greatly and are dependent on a number of external factors including the arrival and departure of vessels, airplanes, and ferries, therefore the manager will need to be able to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate passenger needs and demand. This can include early morning and late evening requirements.
