Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by ensuring that all visiting students and families have a pleasant and informative visit to campus, supporting the success of various student-visit programs through coordinating and conducting information sessions, campus tours, virtual events, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across campus.
Salary: $43,000/year or more depending on experience.
Essential Functions
- Supervises a caseload of 350-500 prospective visitors.
- Makes decisions on visit incentive offers to include gathering information for incomplete files and cultivating applicants.
- Maintains communication with assigned visitors by implementing a communication plan utilizing various communication methods including but not limited to phone calls, emails, and text messages.
- Develops strong relationships with families about the various aspects of the college search/decision process both on and off campus, including, but not limited to financial aid, billing, academics, lifestyle, athletics, and student interest clubs.
- Obtains one collateral or secondary responsibility within the department as assigned by supervisor and may change depending on availability and office reorganization.
- Conducts outreach to local schools and organizations to identify groups to invite to campus.
- Oversees the Admissions social media pages. Creates content and oversees student brand ambassadors.
- Coordinates incentive offers, such as transportation and lodging, to bring visitors to campus.
- Develops and maintains relationships with affinity groups.
- Assists in market research.
- Represents the University at on and off-campus events including open houses, regional events, and academic showcases and strategic high school visits.
- Tracks college fair invitations to support developing fall and spring travel plans.
- Books travel and registers staff for college fairs.
- Maintains relationship with area hotels by coordinating reservation blocks and other amenities for campus visitors.
- Processes department invoices, reimbursements, and coordinates with Accounts Payable.
- Assists in the planning and coordination of student visits to the Norwich campus to enhance the customer's experience. This includes, but is not limited to, four open houses, leadership camps, and day visits (both on campus and virtual).
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to bring prospective students, parents, and other constituents to campus events.
- Supervises and trains tour guides, student ambassadors, federal work-study, and student volunteers.
- Participates in university-wide functions, meetings, trainings, and announcements that can include multiple departments, as necessary.
- Orders meals, reserves spaces, and plans and coordinates workshops and events with multiple departments.
- Coordinates student workers to collect mail, cover department mainline, assemble admit packages, and other administrative tasks.
- Supports fellow co-workers in a respectful and efficient way as it relates to the responsibilities described above.

Job Requirements:
- Some college coursework required, bachelors degree preferred
- Admissions/Recruitment experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and oral), presentation experience, sales/marketing skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and the ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Military experience, military school experience or ROTC experience(s) a plus, but not required
- A valid driver's license is required
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook)
- Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
- Work some evening or weekend hours
- Travel as needed (public or private transportation)
Environmental Conditions
- Indoor work at a computer workstation. Occasional walking tours of campus as required to support visits.
- Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
