Position Overview
Norwood Development Group is seeking a creative and dynamic Marketing and Events Coordinator to join our team in downtown Colorado Springs. This role will focus on managing and growing social media platforms, creating engaging content, and executing events that activate and promote our properties throughout Colorado Springs. With support from the Director of Marketing, the Marketing and Events Coordinator will lead efforts to increase brand visibility, community engagement, and meaningful connections across multiple properties and digital platforms. The right candidate will bring energy, imagination and organization to the most exciting new projects in Colorado Springs.
Location
The position will office downtown, but success in the job will mean building relationships and capturing content by being out on locations throughout Colorado Springs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Coordination
- Manage the concept design, planning, logistics, vendor coordination, and execution of events such as concerts, festivals, parties, and presentations.
- Handle talent booking, budgeting, setup, and breakdown for each event.
- Coordinate contacts, schedules, and other logistical details to ensure seamless execution.
- Develop creative marketing strategies and communication plans to promote events.
- Capture event content on-site to share across digital platforms.
Creative & Administrative Support
- Assist in the creation of digital and print materials for campaigns, presentations and events.
- Assist in developing original copy for social media platforms, websites, and printed advertising materials
- Performing market research, analyzing forecasts, and performing competitive analysis
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including property management, tenants, vendors, and community organizations.
- Maintain partner relationships, build new community relationships and foster community outreach and placemaking initiatives.
- Assist in the training and coordination of seasonal interns with the support of the Director of Marketing.
- Track program performance, research best practices, and manage budgets with the support of the Director of Marketing.
- Understanding brand guidelines and consistently implementing the brand voice across all channels and marketing materials.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including data collection and general organization and other tasks.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Assist with design, management, and maintenance of social media accounts, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms and properties.
- Support the creation, editing, and publishing of daily/weekly content (text, images, videos) to engage audiences and build buzz around new and existing projects.
- Support responding to online inquiries, facilitate conversations, and foster relationships with the online Colorado Springs community.
- Stay informed of digital trends and tools to proactively improve social media practices.
- Capture event content on-site to share across digital platforms.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in social media marketing and event planning.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency with social media tools and platforms, Canva, video editing software and social analytics tools.
- Knowledge of multimedia and AV equipment; Adobe Creative Suites or Photoshop experience is a plus.
Creativity & Communication:
- Strong copywriting, editing, and design skills.
- A keen eye for good design and the ability to deliver creative content across text, image, and video.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a talent for collaboration.
