Job Description

We are looking for a Controls Technician to work on our team supporting our Electrical Manager and PLC Programmers to work on our electrical components for both existing product lines and future product lines. In addition, this role will provide customer support for existing customers as needed - providing support for troubleshooting, with up to 75% travel

Qualifications

• Controls Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Electronics Technician or similar diploma obtained from an accredited educational institution
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position
• Must be comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office programs
• Experience in the controls field is considered a plus
• Previous experience with PLC programming, CAD, and/or Solidworks Electrical is considered a plus
• Strong communication skills, ability to utilize software to document trip reports and expenses while traveling.
• Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to travel utilizing rental vehicles, trucks, planes and other public modes of transport.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds on occasion;
• Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly.
• Ability to travel regularly, and to work long shifts over weekends as required by customer needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Ability to regularly walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle, grasp or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Additional effort requirements consist of, but are not limited to, lifting, pushing, and pulling materials. Ability to work for 8 hours or longer on hard surface concrete floors, and to wear all required PPE including safety footwear at all times.
