Program Coordinator

FLSA: Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime

Status: 24 hours/week, 10-month position.

RI Program Coordinator position is an on-campus position. The position start date is on or about 8/1/2025.

  • Basic Function:

The Renaissance Institute (RI) of NDMU offers an array of onsite and online non-credit courses designed for the adult learner. The Program Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director and RI volunteers, participates in the planning and day-to-day operations of RI, and the implementation of RI’s goals and objectives. This position is responsible for the daily operation of RI, including: managing the online registration system and member course enrollment; oversight of the member website and RI’s social media presence, managing membership records through NDMU’s online database, scheduling classrooms and event venues, supporting committee activities, classroom facility oversight; training members and instructors in classroom technology usage, technology support and troubleshooting, financial transaction preparation; and other duties as assigned.


3. Essential functions:

  • Acts as Registrar each semester updating the online registration portal to assure that registrations are compiled; course selections assigned, class schedules distributed, and accurate payment records are maintained. Maintains a member database.
  • Schedules classrooms and events with NDMU’s Office of Conference Services, assigns classrooms to accommodate class sizes and class content, assesses and provides necessary audio visual or technology support for both onsite and online course delivery.
  • Maintains a course coordinator database.
  • Trains classroom instructors in appropriate use of NDMU technology
  • Creates RI surveys for course evaluations, polling and assembles reports
  • Maintains current and historical information about classes and class participation.
  • Maintains the RI member website with weekly updates, master calendar of events, special events, presentations or exhibits, and member resources.
  • Provides administrative and creative support to RI’s Curriculum, Marketing, Membership, Communications and Social Committees, liaising with NDMU offices as activities require.
  • Responds to inquiries from membership, NDMU officials and the public regarding RI activities. Seeks resolution of issues in a collegial manner.
  • Provides creative and organizational support for special events, lectures or fundraising activities.
  • Serve on University committees, taskforces, workgroups, etc. as designated.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required.


  • Qualifications:


Education: Associates degree from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.


Experience: At least three years of experience functioning as an administrative coordinator or technology support assistant is required. Experience in higher education is preferred. Experience working with older adults is preferred.


Skills/Aptitude:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, webpage management, and Zoom or other video conferencing software.
  • Ability to quickly obtain proficiency in NDMU’s ERP database and related systems (e.g. Ellucian Colleague).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and processes with flexibility, efficiency and thoroughness.
  • Ability to problem solve, maintain confidentiality and work effectively as a team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • An understanding and sensitivity to the aging process and older adults, and how to accommodate members with special needs.
  • An appreciation and commitment to the history, values and mission of RI and NDMU.


Working Conditions: Normal office environment (walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, etc.). Some light physical demands such as bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting, and pushing may be required.
