What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist/Programmer position at Nova Biomedical Corporation?
Nova Biomedical is hiring a CNC Machinist/Programmer on-site in our Waltham, MA facility (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM). The CNC Machinist/Programmer is responsible for the operation, set up, and programming of all manual and automated equipment in the shop. This individual must be proficient in Mastercam CAD system. Other responsibilities include:
- Setting up all shop equipment including the Manual Milling, Lathe, and Trak Lathe machines.
- Programming all manual and automated equipment and machines.
- Setting up and maintaining operation of CNC Millers and Lathes, including tool offsets and editing of CNC programs.
- Being responsible for part quality, dimensional inspections and meeting time standards.
- Maintaining equipment upkeep and a clean Model Shop overall.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- Read and write English and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Perform Machine Shop math.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to work independently.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work while standing or bent for long periods.
- Ability to work in a loud Machine Shop environment with CNC Mill and Lathe machines.
- Ability to wear PPE eyewear.
- Proficient with all shop measuring tools.
Education/Experience:
- High School or Technical School graduate.
- 5 years of Machine Shop experience and the skill level of a Machinist A with programming knowledge.
