What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Engineering Co-Op position at Nova Biomedical Corporation?
Nova Biomedical is hiring an Industrial Engineering Co-Op on-site in our Billerica, Enterprise Rd facility (hours: M-F 8:00 AM 4:30 PM). The Industrial Engineering Co-Op will work on-site on our Billerica, Enterprise Rd facility to support Nova Biomedicals instrument manufacturing operation. This opportunity will provide valuable, hands-on learning experience for the Co-Op student and will provide an opportunity to apply coursework in the production environment.
Other responsibilities include:
- Assisting and/or leading with conducting instrument assembly and test time studies.
- Assisting and/or leading production efficiency and improvement projects.
- Evaluating and improving production floor layout and flow for greater efficiency and visual identification of instrument status.
- Performing production risk identification and mitigation.
- Assisting and/or leading the development of a visual shop floor overview system.
- Supporting other manufacturing operations at other Billerica and Waltham manufacturing sites, as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- System and optimization thinking.
- Quantitative and data driven decision making.
- Experienced with writing Engineering studies and reports. Clear communicator with the ability to guide others in a study
Education/Experience:
- Enrolled in a B.S. in Industrial Engineering or related major with a minimum of one full year of coursework completed.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a related field, preferred.
