What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emissions Technician position at Nova Compression?
Overview: The Emissions Technician will perform and oversee testing utilizing Portable Emissions Analyzers as well as make emission related repairs/modifications to Nova Compression compressors. Position will eventually support the entire Permian Basin.
Ability to:
· Utilize computer - based applications to generate emission testing reports
· Generate accurate service tickets upon completion of testing
· Respond to resting problems encountered by troubleshooting, preforming diagnostic testing, and repairing/adjusting testing equipment
· Follow guidelines of Environmental Quality Management System (QMS)
· Must be able to work overtime as needed
· Travel will be required, estimated at 20% or approximately four nights per month
· Maintain a current and valid driver’s license
· Other duties as assigned
Knowledge:
· Advanced knowledge and the ability to apply applicable EPA/ASTM methodologies including but not limited to:
· EPA Method 1
· ASTM Method D6522-00
· Advanced knowledge of Subpart JJJJ and OOOO requirements
· Proficient with technology and used in air emission testing
· Proficient in emissions regulating technologies (i.e. AFR controllers, catalysts, software, etc.)
· Communicate information effectively with all levels of co-workers by phone, email or in person
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
· Able to work independently or with others
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google G Suite and ability to learn and efficiently utilize other software tools and applications that are beneficial to the position
Minimum Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or other related field is preferred; 5 years additional work experience can serve in lieu of the degree
· 5 years’ experience with emission control systems and/or air/fuel ratio controllers
