We are looking for people pursuing majors in Welding.
- This Internship provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to responsibilities that transfer to skills needed in a full-time position with us. The opportunity is available to develop, participate and learn key roles and functions for welding. We are looking for Interns who like to build things, get their hands dirty, and who want to explore the possibility of a long-term career at Nova in the future.
Location:
We have projects all across the United States, in large cities and small towns, so our people must be willing to go where the work is. Job assignment location will be determined closer to your start date.
Primary Responsibilities and Opportunities
- Weld structural steel in all positions.
- Weld stainless steel and carbon steel and possibly other alloys.
- Select welding wires, gases and settings for a variety of processes.
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, flange line up pins, wrap arounds, center finders and rulers.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Exceptional attendance.
- Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

- This job requires temporary relocation.
Qualifications - Opportunity to pass a bend test.
- Opportunity to weld in 6G position.
- Opportunity to read blue print drawings is required.
- Strong math skills are required.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
- High level of energy and motivation.
- Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.

Pay range is $16.00 to $25.00 per hour, non-exempt
