Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being in a home or community setting. This role requires a strong commitment to quality care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Shift: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 7:30am - 11:00am
Thursday and Friday: 7:30 am - 12nooon.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare providers, adapting as necessary based on client needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
- Assist clients in participating in community activities, enhancing their social engagement and quality of life.
- Lift and transfer clients safely when necessary, using proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a nursing home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid principles is beneficial for responding to emergencies effectively.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is advantageous for providing comprehensive support.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when working independently.
