The Visitor Center Clerk is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Visitor Center.Pay Rate : $13.50 per hourMajor Duties / Specific TasksVisitor services : greet visitors; operate cash register to sell tickets and gift shop items; provide information; answer telephone inquiries; interpret educational exhibits; perform daily opening / closing procedures for the Visitor Center building and cash register. Receive deliveries, guests, and phone calls and route them to the appropriate staff member. Assist with implementation of professional photography registration and rules.Perform basic facility maintenance chores : assist with watering and weeding Visitor Center plants; clean restrooms, gift shop, lobby and other areas of Visitor Center as necessary.Minimum QualificationsConsiderable ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff members to provide excellent customer service.Interest in botanical gardens and horticulture.Ability to handle cash accurately and operate cash register.Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times.Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
