Summary / Objective
The NGTS Engineer will play a critical role in advancing the operational readiness and tactical accuracy of the B-52 training and simulation systems. This dual-hatted position requires expertise in both Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) engineering and mission planning. This role will develop and maintain sophisticated software models that simulate real-world threat environments while integrating advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) data. Additionally, they will oversee mission planning processes, ensuring alignment with the latest Air Force strategies, visual and radar techniques, and database formats. The NGTS Engineer will enhance system accuracy and mission effectiveness by seamlessly merging engineering proficiency with tactical mission planning, contributing to the overall success of B-52 operations and training.

NGTS Engineer :
- Develop and construct realistic sets of emitter modes by leveraging data from the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) database and other available sources to enhance system accuracy and effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze threat systems that pose risks to the B-52 aircraft during combat sorties, ensuring software adaptations align with potential threats.
- Develop and maintain software solutions that incorporate intelligence on weapons platforms, including airborne interceptors, mobile artillery, surface-to-air missile systems, and naval ships.
- Model and simulate weapon system behaviors when engaging targets like the B-52, accounting for responses to countermeasures such as jamming, evasive maneuvers, expendables, and varying surface features.
- Ensure proficiency in integrating B-52 Electronic Warfare equipment functionality, predicting the response of EC receivers and transmitters within software models.
- Support B-52 simulator operations, ensuring software alignment with training and operational requirements.
- Implement software solutions that consider the various theaters of operation and the specific functions of air defense weapons.
- Integrate different EID mission data versions into software systems, ensuring the impact on Electronic Warfare (EW) station equipment response is accurately reflected.
- Utilize the B-52 Electronic Attack Guide to inform software development and ensure adherence to attack and defense protocols.
- Represent B-52 TS at NGTS User Conference (NUG).
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Programs, and Tools
While working in an office environment, this position will frequently be required to sit, talk, listen, use eye acuity, be on camera, and use hands / fingers to grasp or type. This position will also occasionally require walking and standing.
This position will also frequently require the individual to use the following tools, equipment, or programs : Computer, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office suite, Deltek Costpoint, Programming languages such as C , Python, Java or other languages, Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or JetBrains for coding and software development, Version Control systems, NGTS platform, Mathematical modeling, system simulations, and algorithm development tools such as MATLAB and Simulink, and other tools. EWIR database, RADAR and EW Systems, and other platforms such as OneSAF, JSAF, or STK. Database management systems such as SQK or NoSQL, and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or custom-built visualizations. Additional development, testing, communication, and collaboration tools to be expected. Exposure to Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Terrain and Elevation Data (DTED / ETED), Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) Database) and more.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This position will be on site at Barksdale AFB, LA and will require adherence to the Government site hours of operation. This position is a full-time salaried exempt position, expected to work atleast 80 hours a payroll period. This position may require evening / weekend work and work outside of the Government site hours of operations when Program support is needed.
Travel
Significant travel is not to be expected outside of requested User Conferences.
Security Clearance
Must have an active DoD Secret Personnel Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one within the first 6-months of employment.
