Director of Human Resources – North America
Novacel, a manufacturing company in Troy, Ohio, has an opportunity for a seasoned HR leader with a strong manufacturing and labor relations background for both local and global collaboration.
Recognized as a strategic HR leader, you will be responsible for shaping, driving and leading the HR function in North America, to support the development of the business. Accountable for ensuring implementation of the HR strategy to fulfill the organizations resource requirements, through attracting, developing and retaining talent, you’ll support HR strategy, drive business success and re-energize our 150 employee workforce.

Your HR Impact
- HR Leadership: Serve as a key business partner to the Managing Director of the Americas, influencing strategy, workforce planning, and organizational design for our U.S. and Mexico operations. Be part of a new leadership team to drive business performance and employee engagement.
- Work in partnership with the Global Director of HR in Paris, ensuring alignment with corporate HR strategies while tailoring initiatives to the North American market.
- Culture & Engagement: Identifies and monitors the organization’s culture to support the attainment of the company’s goals and promote employee satisfaction and engagement. Provide guidance to leadership on the impact of projects and decisions on the culture.
- Labor Relations & Compliance: Develops/enhances HR practices & policies to support and meet compliance requirements while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and within a union environment.
- Operational HR Excellence: Optimize HR processes, payroll, and benefits while leveraging data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of HR/Business Partner experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role with an industrial focus. Experience in a matrixed organization preferrable with international collaboration.
- Demonstrated business acumen: curious about business strategies, emerging business trends in HR and manufacturing and a verifiable track record of success partnering with Senior Management.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking: able to envision, develop, communicate and implement short and long term human resource change management initiatives and strategies.
- Knowledgeable in compliance for federal/state/local laws.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Able to present at Executive level.
- Technologically proficient.
