We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Lead to join our team at our SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) flooring manufacturing facility in Northwest Georgia. The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment, and managing the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, leading a team of multi-craft maintenance technicians, standardizing maintenance processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support our manufacturing processes. A collaborative leadership style is essential to foster teamwork and effective communication within the maintenance team and across departments. The Maintenance Lead will also lead by example in promoting a culture of safety.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Leadership:
    • Lead and supervise a team of multi-craft maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Employ a collaborative leadership style to promote teamwork, open communication, and a positive work environment.
    • Schedule and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Hands-On Engagement:
    • Participate directly in maintenance and service events as needed, providing hands-on support and expertise to the team.
    • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring swift resolution to minimize downtime.
  • CMMS Administration:
    • Administer and manage the CMMS, including system configuration, data entry, and maintenance of accurate asset records.
    • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and work orders within the CMMS.
    • Generate and analyze CMMS reports to track maintenance performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
    • Train maintenance staff on CMMS usage and provide ongoing support to ensure effective system utilization.
  • Maintenance Operations:
    • Oversee routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating with technicians and external vendors as needed.
    • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
  • Process Standardization:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized maintenance processes and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all maintenance activities.
    • Document and regularly review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks and equipment operation, ensuring they reflect best practices and compliance standards.
    • Train maintenance staff on standardized processes to ensure uniformity in maintenance practices.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment performance.
    • Collaborate with the production team to support manufacturing efforts and ensure maintenance activities align with quality control standards.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for the maintenance team.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any identified hazards or deficiencies.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, procurement, and IT, to ensure seamless integration and effective use of the CMMS.
    • Communicate maintenance plans, progress, and issues to management and other stakeholders.
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience leading and managing multi-craft maintenance technicians.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software and experience in CMMS administration.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in SPC flooring production.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
