What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Novalis US, LLC?
Duties and Requirements of the Job:
• Performs such individual assignments as the supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
• Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation. Also including, but not limited to organization goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department and ensure adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.
• Responsible for coordinating the daily activities of production personnel to ensure plant goals, including labor efficiency, scrap, use of overtime, on-time delivery to customers, zero defects, down-time issues are met.
• Conducts shift start-up communications and assigns jobs on the production floor.
• Evaluates hourly employee performance and conducts corrective action as necessary.
• Ensures employees are trained in the proper use of equipment and machinery, standard operating procedures, quality and productivity measures and expectations.
• Solicits employee involvement to assist in improvement of team performance.
• Works with maintenance to prioritize maintenance activities.
• Ensures company policies, procedures and guidelines are being followed.
Training, Knowledge and Experience (May Be Required or Preferred, at the discretion of the hiring team)
• Must be a high school graduate or have GED, with 2 year or more college degree highly desirable.
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in US without a sponsorship now or in the future.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in the flooring industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Advanced experiences with Microsoft office 365 and other office tools.
• Relocation package will not be offered for this position.
Working Conditions:
• Occasionally lifts and / or carries up to 50 pounds.
• Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
• Some of work time is spent sitting, standing, walking, lifting and bending.
• Works within a manufacturing ,office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
• May be required to travel to other sites or customer sites as needed.
• PPE must be worn as required.
