Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Assist in evaluating patient needs and contribute to creating individualized health plans, particularly focusing on infectious disease management.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation in the patient’s medical record, adhering to our practice’s charting policies, with a focus on infectious disease diagnoses and treatments.
- Clinical Support: Prepare medical equipment and assist physicians during exams, treatments, and procedures, particularly in the context of infectious disease care.
- Care Coordination: Schedule specialized consultations, coordinate appointments for diagnostic testing, and manage follow-up care as directed by physicians.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with detailed information regarding their care and help address their questions and concerns, with a focus on educating patients about infectious disease management, prevention, and treatment.
- Infection Control: Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure patient and staff safety, especially in the handling and disposal of infectious materials.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a physician's office setting is required, with preference given to candidates who have experience in infectious disease or a related field.
- Required: Current Medical Assistant certification and CPR certification.
