Job Title: Patient Service Representative
General Summary: A position responsible for front office processes in a Family Practice Clinic. This role requires strong customer service skills with preferred experience in a medical office setting.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Greet patients entering the physician practice.
Answer office phones, schedule appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule as necessary.
Check in patients, collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into the electronic system, and verify insurance information.
Assist in checking out patients, including processing referrals and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Collect co-pays and post charges.
Handle charge entry and patient balance processing.
Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and general information about the practice.
Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
Perform Additional Responsibilities As Needed.
Education: High school diploma/GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
Certification: Prefer healthcare management/administration certification.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service required; medical office experience preferred.
