Job Summary
Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a conscientious, compassionate, and skilled Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our local growing colon and rectal surgery practice of 4 physicians and 3 APPs in Clemmons, NC. This position would provide clinical care for colon and rectal patients in both the ambulatory and acute settings in Forsyth County. This position would support our surgeons in the clinic and assist our surgeons in the OR, to include robotic procedures. We are looking for a candidate who has an interest in the surgical care of patients with colon and rectal diagnosis. The ideal candidate is patient-centric, flexible, adaptable, dependable, and respectful of all team members.
Our expert surgeons and physician assistants work collaboratively to provide remarkable care to our operative and non-operative patients. The selected APP will be responsible for performing a variety of functions under the supervision of our colon and rectal surgeons. These functions, though not all-inclusive, include seeing patients in the clinic setting, performing office procedures, surgical assisting in the operating room, and rounding at our acute facilities.
Our expert clinicians have devoted their careers to diagnosing and treating colon and anorectal conditions and offer the most advanced treatment options available. Some of the conditions we regularly treat include colorectal cancers, anal fissures, hemorrhoids, polyps, diverticulitis and rectal prolapse.
The Winston-Salem market is located within the Piedmont Triad area and is the home to many great attractions such as 2 minor league baseball teams (The Winston-Salem Dash, The Greensboro Grasshoppers) and a team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a partner of Major League Baseball, The High Point Rockers. We have college football (Wake Forest), several local wineries, and a large art community (theater, ballet). We are 2 hours north of Charlotte, 2 hours to the east of the North Carolina Mountains, Asheville is less than 2 hours to the Southwest and Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill are about 2 hours to the east where you can catch some good basketball and larger concerts. We are within 4 hours of the North Carolina beaches and less than 3 hours to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, a popular summer destination. We have an international airport in Greensboro and Charlotte.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education : Master's Degree, required. Masters of Physician Assistant Studies, Masters of Nurse Practitioner, or similar degree conferred by an accredited program, such as NCCPA and ARC-PA.
Experience : One year of experience working in general or other surgical subspecialty, emergency / inpatient medicine or comparable experience. 3 to 5 years experience, preferred.
Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current NP or PA license in appropriate state, registry required w / state medical board, current DEA registry and ACLS( not required for the in- office only NP / PA) and BLS required.
Additional Skills Required : Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
