Job Description

As a Logistics Specialist you will ensure operational excellence through supporting both internal and external customers. You will do this by making appointments for the customer, entering shipment data, and communicating to help resolve issues and ensure on-time departures/arrivals, with a focus on generating revenue as well as maintaining a certain savings goal for the customer. You will also provide excellent customer service to all carriers and customers. The successful candidate will also develop tailored solutions that deliver value and support the customer's business strategy. This role offers a great opportunity for professional growth in the Logistics/Supply Chain industry, with potential to advance in areas such as Operations, Sales, or Account Management.

Responsibilities in Support of Managed Transportation Services (MTS)

· Manage day-to-day shipping & receiving activity for clients while achieving customer and company goals

· Work with business analytics to make continuous process improvements that help improve the client’s supply chain

· Foster strong relationships both internally across teams and externally with customers, carriers, and suppliers.

· Collaborate with industry professionals to gain insight into internal business processes and supply chain best practices.

· Deliver operational excellence to customers, carriers, and suppliers

· Enter shipment data ensuring a commitment to quality and accuracy

· Answer incoming calls and make outbound calls ensuring outstanding customer service

· Provide timely and accurate shipment information to carriers

· Audit load information for accuracy and completion

· Complete customer, carrier, and supplier requests with a sense of urgency

· Maintain revenue/savings goals both internally and externally

· Assist in the onboarding of new customers

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and strong internet skills

· Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively

· Proven experience in working in business operations or sales operations

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant work experience
