Job Description:
The Automotive Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine machine requirements, develop specifications, and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing long-term operations improvement plans and automation strategies for multiple manufacturing plants.
- Designing electrical control systems using AutoCAD/Solid works electric, pneumatic diagrams, enclosure/panel layouts, power, logic, and safety circuits.
- Designing and engineering industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
- Programming PLC based systems across multiple platforms.
- Developing machine code in PLC or DCS systems as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software.
- Researching components and technology available from suppliers, determining ways to increase reliability of controls and reduce costs.
- Training and mentoring peer group on automation concepts and skills.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering, equivalent discipline, and strong knowledge of product/process flow and design for high-volume manufacturing including robotic automation.
The ideal candidate should have strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional areas, and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
