The Role
As Chief Estimator, you will lead the estimating department, modernizing operations and driving accurate, competitive bids for structural and miscellaneous steel projects. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll manage a team of 3-4 estimators and implement modern software and tools to enhance efficiency and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring the estimating team.
- Implementing modern estimating software and automation tools.
- Estimating for large projects, including railways, motorways, signage, and heavy civil works.
- Collaborating with project management and leadership teams.
- Serving as the department’s primary point of contact for stakeholders.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: 10 years of estimating experience in the structural steel industry, including team management.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in modern estimating software.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities for team management and client interactions.
- Deep understanding of structural and miscellaneous steel processes.
