Job Title: Maintenance Technician 2
The Novelis Ashville Manufacturing Facility is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronics, and programmable controlled equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with plant safety and environmental requirements, policies, and regulatory statutes.
- Notify appropriate personnel of irregularities in operating equipment or materials; maintain clean and orderly conditions in work areas.
- Under supervision, coordinate and carry out various operations in the performance of any assignment.
- Plan, layout, and construct workstation tables, conveyors, platforms, and other work aids to improve ergonomics, safety, and general working conditions.
- Read and interpret prints, diagrams, drawings, schematics, programs, and operating instructions to fabricate tools, fixtures, workstation equipment, and troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade machinery.
- Operate a variety of mobile equipment including forklifts, powered manlifts, and overhead cranes.
- Enter maintenance work order data into computers.
- SUPPORT THE COMPANY'S CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROCESS.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Able to work on a night shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- 1-3 years of maintenance work experience, preferably in a manufacturing work environment.
- Demonstrate concern for personal safety and safety of others.
- Will participate in plant safety initiatives.
- Ability to work as part of a team and self-direction.
- Good verbal communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; Oracle, and various analysis tools.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Capable and willing to train others as needed.
- Good decision-making skills are required.
- Flexibility in job focus and assignments may change daily and by the hour.
Physical Demands:
Individuals need to be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, climb stairs or ladders during the normal course of duties on a routine basis. Individuals would also need to be able to hear, speak, see (including near, far, and peripheral site), handle with fingers, hands, or arms; lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; reach above, at or below shoulder level during the normal course of duties on a routine basis. Keyboarding is a routine function.
Shift differential for night shift.
Candidates must be able to work a night shift, 6P-6A, on a rotating basis. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.
