Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Overview:

The Novelis Kennesaw R&D team is seeking an Advanced Process and Products Co-Op. The person in this role will report to the New Domains Process Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, with experimental testing, the development of aluminum processing for leaner production and reduced footprint (increasing the recycling) content. This position will accelerate the process of validation of new technologies and applications to allow Novelis to meet the sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

• Support the planning of pilot scale demonstration and maintain interactions with the cross-functional teams.
• Perform pilot scale testing with a focus on thermomechanical processing, mechanical, formability and microstructural evaluation.
• Organize experimental data to find key correspondence between process-structure-product-performance relationship.
• Prepare, document and communicate test reports with project stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Senior in Materials Engineering / Science or Metallurgy
• Experienced in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
• Must be available from May 2025 until December 2025

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Student
• Proficient in Lab activities (mechanical testing, optical, electron microscopy) with a focus on materials characterization
• Familiar on Aluminum alloys
• Familiar on Sustainability
• Familiar on Lithium-Ion Battery
