Sr Team Leader - Maintenance

Position Overview

Novelis Uhrichsville has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Team Leader! This position is responsible for coordinating the resource allocation and maintenance of the rolling mill assets and providing support to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader.

Work schedule: Day shift M-F

Responsibilities

• Manage union and salary maintenance staff to work safely, minimize downtime, implement preventive maintenance program, and insure proper work completion
• Coordinate work scheduling with maintenance planning and CMMS system
• Complete projects and collaborate with contractors and vendors.
• Work with the different work teams in a Manufacturing Unit on issues such as equipment down-time, reliability, planned maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader with long term department planning and day to day operation of the maintenance teams.
• Ensure employee development, which includes coordination and participation in Skill Based Pay, annual employee review activities and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work with associate maintenance leaders to develop union technician skillsets.

Qualifications

• 5 – 10 years of prior maintenance leadership experience
• Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, and team-based management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-10 years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor, maintenance manager or equivalent in aluminum industry
• Experience with hot and cold rolling mills, aluminum finishing equipment and aluminum industry
• Experience in union environment

Location Profile

Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum coil. The Recycling mill prepares scrap aluminum that is used in the rolling mill to create rolled aluminum coils to a desired gauge. Anneals temper the aluminum then it is leveled and sized to customer specification. Employing more than 400 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
