The Company is seeking a Corporate Controller to join their leadership team and oversee their financial operations, ensuring the company’s continued financial health and success.
Position Overview:
The Corporate Controller will play a critical role in managing the company’s accounting functions and providing strategic financial insights to drive business growth. This is a senior-level position that reports directly to and works closely with the CEO to guide decision-making, financial planning, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a proactive, solutions-driven approach to managing corporate finances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including variance analysis and recommendations for operational improvements.
- Coordinate and manage year-end review, working with external accountants to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage the company’s cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Continuously evaluate accounting processes for efficiency improvements and automation opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or corporate controller role.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to financial issues.
