POSITION SUMMARY : The Maintenance Operations Manager leads a dedicated maintenance team while collaborating closely with production teams. This role involves planning and executing routine preventative maintenance and overseeing projects from conception to completion, including the design, procurement, and installation of capital equipment and tooling. The Manager evaluates and develops new equipment processes or products, ensuring their successful commercial operation. A primary focus is on meeting the needs of machine operators and continuously improving machine conditions. The Maintenance Operations Manager must guarantee that mechanics perform a wide range of tasks related to installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility equipment according to established safety and maintenance systems, aligning with site business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety in all tasks and decision-making processes.
- Be flexible with work hours, including potential 8-12 hour shifts, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of PLCs and electrical circuits.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues within the manufacturing process, recommending and sourcing solutions as needed.
- Manage preventative maintenance software effectively.
- Identify root causes of mechanical and electrical failures to enhance site uptime.
- Cultivate a maintenance-as-a-service culture for production teams.
- Diagnose issues with motors, blown fuses, disconnect timers, relays, and other equipment.
- Exhibit strong expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Consult maintenance manuals or technical support to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Quickly analyze and resolve mechanical problems, collaborating with management as needed.
- Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Demonstrate experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, effectively managing machine repairs and troubleshooting.
- Plan, implement (with necessary approvals), and install electrical or mechanical modifications to existing buildings and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic control devices, primarily through circuit board replacement as needed.
