We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to be the main support to the Accounting Manager in matters relating to accounting, treasury management and administrative functions. Additionally, The General Ledger Accountant will maintain and follow Novo accounting policies and procedures. The GL Accountant has the key role in the preparation and posting of journal entries along with the reconciliation for GL accounts while maintaining the maintenance of fixed assets and reporting.
Pay range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually.
What will you do in this role?
- Implements monthly closing processes, including the creation of monthly schedules and reports.
- Determines and updates capitalization of fixed assets according to policy.
- Creates, posts, and resolves issues with monthly standard journal entries and other journal entries (including Payroll and Prepaid)
- Generates monthly Trial Balance as well as all reports and basic queries using financial reporting tools (Access, MITS, SQL, CSD, Mgmt. Reporter, Thoroughbred)
- Calculates the Vendor Rebates and Royalties.
- Reconciles, verifies, and resolves issues for month end schedules.
- Prepares and completes daily bank reconciliations as well as various bank accounts and schedules.
- Maintains the accuracy of the Fixed Asset System (FAS) and the supporting documentation for data in the FAS file.
- Prepares and saves month-end folders Ensuring financial records comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintains organized record keeping ensuring the documentation of current copies of registrations for owned vehicles, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
- Understands all system-generated journal entries and makes intermittent reviews to assure the entirety of all bank documents and daily activity statements are saved.
- Initiates and tracks electronic bank payments as well as transfers and manages ACH and Wire templates.
- Maintains and provides accurate and effective documentation per company policy to ensure it is readily available for any audit purposes.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
- Solid demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, with math and analytical skills with ability to be flexible and use solid judgement.
- Functional knowledge of computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook with working knowledgeable of Pivot Tables and Macros.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven level of accuracy and detail orientation
- Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
- Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills.
Above and Beyond Qualifications
- One to three years of related accounting experience specifically in General Ledger
- Experience with Cloud Suite Distribution (CSD)
