Novo Holdings invites you to join our Planetary Health Investments team as a Principal. You will lead the evaluation and execution of investments, manage portfolio companies, and drive strategic initiatives that create returns and foster planetary well-being.
The Role
As a Principal, you will play a pivotal role in the Planetary Health Investments team as a leader and an investor by leading all aspects of the investment process, from sourcing to execution and portfolio management. Key Responsibilities
- Investment Leadership: Drive deal sourcing, evaluation, and execution with a focus on impactful sustainability initiatives.
- Transaction Execution: Take full ownership of the transaction process, including due diligence, legal structuring, financial modeling, and negotiations.
- Portfolio Management: Act as a trusted advisor to portfolio companies, providing strategic insights and guidance while monitoring financial and operational performance.
- Value Creation: Develop and implement value creation plans (VCP) for portfolio companies, identifying and driving key levers for success.
- Team Collaboration: Lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Boards of Directors, management teams, and external advisors.
We are seeking an experienced investment professional who brings a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and leadership skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in private equity or growth equity, with proven deal execution and portfolio management experience.
- Analytical Skills: Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence across technical, commercial, and legal dimensions.
- Leadership: A proven leader who can balance delegation and control, mentor team members, and foster individual development.
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex transactions effectively.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in sustainability, climate tech, or related fields, with a commitment to ongoing learning.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to command respect and contribute meaningfully to boards and committees.
- Education: Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field from a top-tier institution.
