Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join a fast-paced and high-growth health tech company. The COO will play a crucial role in scaling operations, overseeing product development, and integrating sophisticated systems to support continued growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the medical device industry, particularly in areas like breast reconstruction, and possess the leadership skills to effectively collaborate with the founder as a true peer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Strategy & Leadership: Lead and develop operational strategies that will scale with the company’s growth, ensuring processes and systems are optimized for high performance and efficiency.
- Team Management & Development: Manage 4-5 direct reports, building and mentoring senior leadership and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture across the organization.
- Product Development Oversight: Provide strategic oversight of product development, including ongoing research initiatives such as breast reconstruction solutions and phase three hair growth technology projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Integration & M&A Expertise: Lead the integration of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and scalability as the company grows through acquisitions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the founder and other senior executives to align strategies and drive the company’s objectives forward, ensuring operational effectiveness across departments.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analytics to drive operational improvements, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that enhance productivity.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve processes to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize productivity.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards, maintaining a focus on risk management and operational integrity.
Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced degree in business administration, engineering, medical device fields, or a related discipline (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Experience: 10-20 years of experience in operational leadership, particularly within the health technology or medical device sectors.
- Medical Device Expertise: In-depth knowledge of medical device development and operations, particularly in fields like breast reconstruction.
- Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing sophisticated teams, especially those with specialized expertise and advanced degrees in medical technology.
- M&A Expertise: Strong experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly in managing post-merger integration and scaling operations.
- Location: This position requires the candidate to be based in Dallas, Texas. No relocation assistance is provided, so candidates must either be located in Dallas or be willing to relocate.
