How You'll Perform the Role
• Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards. • Keep work area clean and organized, per 5S standards. • Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures. • Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required. • Develop, implement and ensure all corporate and plant safety policies and procedures are being followed and are up to date. • Perform internal audits and inspections and enter into appropriate systems as required. • Prepare and lead weekly quality meetings ensuring goals and objectives are clarified and meet. • Maintain regular communication with all levels of employees, from floor level, up to Corporate Quality, through email, calls, and meetings. • Attend union and nonunion employee breakout meetings to communicate quality related information. • Assist with food safety certification efforts. (SQF/YUM/Burger King/Havi/Wendy’s/Etc.) • Using Microsoft Excel, prepare reports and document test and audit results. • Assist in investigating customer complaints and help to resolve quality issues. • Conduct required training and new employee orientation. • Assist with conducting annual refresher training along with proficiency tests. • Follow all Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements as outline in the SQF Quality Manual and GMP's. • Continually monitor all aspects of quality, ensuring all corporate and plant management quality procedures are followed. • Perform and record required audits. (Monthly Sanitation and Security, Good Manufacturing Practices, Master Cleaning Schedules, Glass and Brittle Plastics, etc.) • Investigate and analyze customer complaints to resolve or help to resolve quality issues. (including filing claims against carriers/formal corrective action responses/root cause analysis/etc.) • Provide monthly reports based on facility’s complaint rate. • Assist with creating monthly excel trend reports • Assist with revising training PowerPoints and active excel spreadsheets • Lead efforts, projects, and cross-functional compliance teams in the direction of continuously improving work environment that is safe and environmentally friendly. • Reporting and documenting any quality issues to machine operator, supervisors, and upper plant management. • Collecting and cataloging samples retrieved from designated machines. • Performing random audits of skids and bales of finished goods to determine quality of product. • Perform quality testing in QA Lab for paper tensile strength, handle strength, ink rub resistance, bar code scanning, basis weight testing. Must have knowledge of or training on QA Lab equipment - tensile tester, Sutherland rub tester, bar code scanner, gram scale.
What We Need From You
• High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred. • Two years of quality or safety experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting, or four years in a warehouse of manufacturing setting. • Internal auditing experience preferred. • Reading, writing and knowledge of Duro quality standards are needed. • Must be able to complete a conversion and basic math test. • Must be computer literate. • Must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Must be able to speak in public, with good communication and leadership skills • Must be able to effectively lead meetings with employees and management. • Self-managing with organization, time management, and analytical skills. • Must have good eyesight, with the ability to distinguish color. Will be tested during pre-employment physical.
