We are seeking a skilled Controller Consultant to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate is based in or willing to commute to Reno, NV, and brings strong expertise in restaurant accounting experience or a mix of industry experience. This role provides financial and accounting guidance to our clients, overseeing financial operations, implementing procedures and controls, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This is a dynamic consulting role that will likely start part-time, with the potential to transition into full-time based on client engagement.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $50 - $60 per hour, based on experience
- Flexible Part-Time to Full-Time Transition Based on Client Needs
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations of client engagements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and policies.
- Provide strategic financial guidance tailored to clients' business objectives.
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyze data, identify trends, and uncover opportunities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with clients to establish and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Conduct industry research to provide valuable insights, particularly in restaurant and other industries.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance, recommending and implementing improvements.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering skill development and knowledge growth.
- Stay current with developments in accounting regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, ideally with restaurant industry experience or a mix of industry exposure.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
