Controller

We are seeking a skilled Controller Consultant to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This position is based in Sacramento, CA, and the ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in the construction industry. In addition, candidates with experience in manufacturing and the restaurant industry will be given a huge bonus. You will provide financial and accounting guidance to our clients, overseeing financial operations, implementing procedures and controls, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This role demands excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively.

Salary:
Earn a competitive hourly rate ranging from $50 to $60 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial operations of client engagements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and policies.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support clients' business objectives.
• Develop and maintain financial models to analyze data, identify trends, and uncover opportunities.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
• Collaborate with clients to establish and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Conduct industry research to provide valuable insights, particularly in the construction sector.
• Monitor and evaluate financial performance, recommending and implementing improvements.
• Mentor junior staff, fostering skill development and knowledge growth.
• Stay current with developments in accounting regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role, with a focus on the construction industry.
• Experience in the manufacturing or restaurant sectors is a significant bonus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership and team management abilities.
