Job Title: Delivery Dispatcher
Job Description: We arecurrently seeking a Delivery Dispatcher who must be organized, efficient, coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring the delivery of goods to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Organize and schedule daily delivery routes for drivers based on delivery priorities and customer requirements.
- Allocate delivery tasks to drivers, ensuring optimal routing for efficiency.
- Monitor driver schedules to ensure timely deliveries and adjust routes as needed to resolve issues or delays.
- Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for drivers, addressing questions or issues they may encounter during their routes.
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery times and provide status updates.
- Coordinate with Customer and LD teams to ensure that all delivery orders are properly prepared and on time.
- Provide management with periodic delivery totals updates and communicate any concerns or positive feedback regarding interactions and organization at their retail stores.
- Route Optimization and Problem Solving:
- Monitor and optimize delivery routes to minimize delays and improve overall efficiency.
- Address any unplanned issues, such as traffic, weather, or vehicle breakdowns, and ensure alternate routes or solutions are implemented.
- Tracking and Reporting:
- Use tracking software to monitor the progress of deliveries in real time.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including timestamps, customer feedback, and delivery confirmations.
- Prepare daily or weekly reports on delivery performance, issues, and driver activity.
- Compose and submit an organized list of weekly deliveries to accounts receivable for invoicing.
- Driver Support and Safety:
- Ensure that drivers are equipped with necessary information, supplies, and safety protocols for each delivery.
- Provide support to drivers in the field, assisting with any emergency or unforeseen situations.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any delivery-related inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
- Ensure that all deliveries are executed according to company standards for accuracy and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities (experience with Google sheets or Microsoft Excel is recommended).
- Communication skills, both written and verbal (heavy call/email volume from 27 AGC retail stores and AGC LD team).
- Proficiency in route planning and scheduling software (Acuity, Jobber, Google Maps, and Verizon Reveal).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and communicating over the phone.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based call center environment
- Office hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday plus weekends, if needed
