We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handling professional to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement and management of materials within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and materials handling, with experience operating various types of equipment.
Duties
- Safely operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and cherry pickers, to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform order picking tasks to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing materials are handled correctly.
- Maintain organization within the warehouse, including proper storage of materials to optimize space and accessibility.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, particularly in roles involving materials handling or order picking.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cherry pickers, is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus, enabling effective troubleshooting of equipment when necessary.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations will be beneficial for this role.
- A strong understanding of warehouse practices and safety protocols is essential for success in this position.
