Job: Purchasing Specialist
Location: Irvine, CA
Duration: 6 Months (Temp to Hire)
1st Shift: 7-3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers based on quality, capability, capacity, and pricing.
- Procurement & Negotiation: Source materials, negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts for competitive and sole-source procurement.
- Contract Administration: Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring compliance with price, schedule, and terms.
- Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery and quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supplier-related risks affecting production or delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive procurement process enhancements, analyze data trends, and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to company, government, and commercial procurement regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5–10 years as a tactical buyer in aerospace or medical industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. CPM or APICS certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, supplier management, risk assessment, and contract administration skills.
- Systems: Proficiency in MRP, EDI, and standard business applications.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with blueprint/drawing reading is a plus.
