What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Leader - Shipping - West - 2nd shift position at NTN Driveshaft, Inc?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The team leader monitors and coordinates team activities. Give importance to individual members and the overall team's achievements of established goals. Ensures the teams goals are aligned and represent the company's overall directive. Acts as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience, judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a Supervisor and could assumes supervisory duties in their absence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a team player
- Getting trucks in and out correctly in a timely manor
- Making sure all clerks send ASN correctly
- Ensure all dunnage is put away correctly and safely stacked
- Make sure everyone does their daily 5s
- Shift meetings to communicate what's going on daily
- Assign loads to clerks and rotate as needed
- Training matrix for each person on your shift
- Make sure all clerks keep up with dunnage tracking sheet
- Make sure driver sign in log is updated per truck
- Assystg reports ( to fix double transfers)
- Fix negatives in all Shipping locations
- Work with Supervisor about assigning cross training team members
- Comply with all safety rules and dress codes
- Any other duties assigned by Manager or Supervisor
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
- Team Lead experience preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in production control preferred
- Excellent verbal & written communications skills
- Self-starter
- Ability to multitask
- Organizational skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Capable of learning various software
- High School Diploma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 70 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, including lifting materials onto or off of the forklift.
- Standing & Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
- Repetitive Motion: Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting, bending, and operating controls of the forklift.
- Hand-eye coordination: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
- Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
- Vision & Attention to Detail: good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
- Balance & Mobility: Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces while operating the forklift
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various conditions including outdoor settings and in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
