Application Architect

Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop Technical Architectures and Frameworks:
  • Design and implement architecture solutions using AWS or Azure to support FSIR project requirements.
  • Develop scalable and secure frameworks for integrating workflows, databases, and frontend interfaces.
• Define and Document Integration Points :
  • Identify and document integration requirements between MS Dynamics CMS, AWS-hosted or Azure-hosted databases, and external systems.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between automated workflows, SIN interfaces, and backend systems.
• Evaluate and Recommend Solutions:
  • Analyze alternative technology solutions and recommend optimal strategies for enhancing FSIR functionality.
  • Ensure alignment with Government of Canada standards and industry best practices.
• Support Proof of Concept Development:
  • Collaborate on the creation of workflows, and API-driven integrations as part of initial proof-of-concept deliverables.
  • Validate system interaction specifications for frontend and backend components.
• Workflow Automation and Optimization:
  • Work closely with business analysts to automate key SIN workflows, including data validation and entry processes.
  • Identify areas for optimization in existing workflows and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
• Enhance User Experience and Interface Design:
  • Provide architectural input for developing a unified user interface for SIN management services officer interactions with the vault.
  • Leverage Cloud agnostic technologies to support user-friendly and intuitive interfaces.
• Maintain Security and Data Integrity:
  • Develop and implement tokenization, encryption, and fraud detection strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and data integrity standards during data migration.
• Monitor and Align with Industry Trends:
  • Keep abreast of evolving Azure and AWS capabilities and ensure solutions align with emerging trends and best practices in government IT.
• Create Technical Documentation:
  • Develop detailed documentation for architecture designs, workflows, system interactions, and technical standards.
  • Define programming, documentation, and testing standards, including naming conventions, data dictionaries, and libraries.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 10 years experience within the last ten (15) years as an Application Software Architect
  1. develop technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies, either for an organization or for a major Application area, to meet the business and Application requirements;
  2. identify the policies and requirements that drive out a particular Solution;
  3. analyze and evaluate alternative technology Solutions to meet business problems;
  4. ensures the Integration of all aspects of technology Solutions;
  5. monitor industry trends to ensure that Solutions fit with Government and industry directions for technology;
  6. analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows;
  7. evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document database content, structure, and Application sub-systems, and develop data dictionary;
  8. define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within Application sub-systems, to external systems and between new and existing systems;
  9. define input/output sources, including detailed plan for technical design Phase, and obtain approval of the system proposal; and
  10. identify and document system specific standards relating to programming, documentation, and testing, covering program libraries, data dictionaries, naming conventions, etc.
• One (1) project with a minimum duration of four (4) consecutive months within the 7 last years:
  1. Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, database connectivity, and API integrations.
  2. Proficiency in Oracle Database design and management.
  3. Experience with tokenization, encryption, and security protocols.
  4. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps.
  5. Ability to design modular, scalable solutions that integrate legacy systems and modern platforms
  6. Implementation of Data lakes on AWS or Azure
• University degree or college/CEGEP Diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering from a Canadian post-secondary institution, or the equivalent as established by a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service, if obtained outside Canada. A copy of the degree, diploma or equivalency must be provided.
• Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance
