Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting NTx’s commercialization strategy by supporting both cassette and instrument manufacturing. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

This position will report to the COO.

Your Responsibilities

• Supporting internal cassette manufacturing, working with the production team to streamline the assembly process, including:
  • Designing and fabricating assembly tools, jigs, fixtures 
  • Partnering to implement Lean/Six Sigma tools on the production floor
  • Designing and fabricating tools to automate and standardize analytical methods
  • Support compliance and Quality By Design (QBD) principles in the production process
• Supporting the transfer of instrument manufacturing from our design partner to our selected Contract Manufacturer, ensuring a complete and compliant transfer package is generated and captured at NTx, including specification documents, assembly instructions, drawings, testing schema and other components of the Design History File.
• Collaborate with Process Development to recommend in-process control (IPC) strategies based on QbD principles.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives for supply chain reliability, quality performance, and cost reduction.
• Interface with upstream, analytical development, and QA/QC groups to ensure alignment with overall program objectives.
• Oversee Process Validation (PV) / Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) activities at CDMO partners.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred. Consideration given to Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or other related discipline with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years working in a pharmaceutical or medical device setting supporting manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical engineering skills, including experience with designing and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk.
• The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move materials or equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or touch objects, tools or controls.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position will be located in Rio Rancho, NM with estimated travel of up to 15%.
