Summary
As the Safety Director at Nu Way Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace safety and compliance within our sales, rebar and rental operations. This role is vital to maintaining a safe work environment for our employees and ensuring adherence to industry regulations. Extensive travel required to all Nu Way locations in Missouri and Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and best practices in the industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master's degree desirable.
- Five years' experience in related fields establishing, implementing, and evaluating corporate safety programs.
- Proven experience in a safety management role, preferably within the manufacturing or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, workers compensation law, and occupational health practices.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and incident investigation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective training development and report writing.
- Ability to develop training materials that enhance employee understanding of safety protocols.
