Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Stress Test Technologist to join our team. This position involves conducting stress tests to evaluate cardiac function and monitor patients during physical and pharmacologic stress tests. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiology testing, strong patient care skills, and a comprehensive understanding of cardiac health assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pharmacological stress tests to assess patients' cardiovascular health.
- Monitor patient vitals during testing, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and ECG, ensuring proper responses to the stress test.
- Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures, setting up ECG leads, and ensuring comfort throughout the process.
- Administer stress tests as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Evaluate patient responses to exercise or medication-induced stress and report abnormal findings to the physician immediately.
- Document test results accurately and maintain thorough patient records.
- Assist in the interpretation of test results alongside cardiologists and provide timely reports for patient care plans.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
- Provide clear instructions to patients on pre-test preparations, such as avoiding food or caffeine.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the testing area and ensure compliance with infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field, such as Cardiovascular Technology, Clinical Physiology, or Nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCS) or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Proven experience with stress testing and ECG monitoring.
- Familiarity with various stress testing equipment and monitoring devices.
- Knowledge of heart disease, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular health conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with treadmill, ergometer, and pharmacological stress testing.
- Previous experience working in a cardiology department or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of patient care procedures and comfort techniques for stress testing.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working in a clinical or hospital setting with a mix of standing, walking, and patient monitoring.
- It may involve some irregular hours or on-call availability based on the facility's needs.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
